YDSP is an initiative co-managed by the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and DSO National Laboratories (DSO). It seeks to raise awareness and generate interest in defence science & technology among the youth. Since 1992, YDSP has been inviting students to discover more about the world of defence by taking part in a wide variety of programmes designed to stretch the young minds to their fullest potential
Research@YDSP is a 4-month research attachment programme for IP4 to IP5 (16 to 17- year old students). The programme offers students the opportunities to experience research work and work alongside engineers/scientists in a real working/research environment with support from partners such as DSO, Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies (CSIT), Temasek Labs (TLs), NTU, NUS, SUTD and their research institutes.
The projects should involve hands-on experience as far as possible since the students learn most effectively through experiential learning. Each project can have a team of two or more students. To enrich the experience, you may explore bringing them on visits to project sites when appropriate.
Solicitation for proposals will be announced once every year in month of April.
Commencement of full-time attachment/mentorship from mid-November to end December.
